Telling Tulips

She found herself plastered
Against the inside of a bowl
Spinning faster and faster
Out of control.
“Wait!” she screamed,
“Can this be my life?
“I can’t catch up.
“Something’s not right.
“Slow me down.
“I must slow down,
“For at this speed
“I will surely drown.
“I once glimpsed tulips
“At the edge of my bowl
“And I must stop now
“To watch them grow.”
