Rise and Shine

Rise and shine
It’s breakfast time.
I stare into my bowl
of corn flakes with some raisins
but I’m looking for my soul.

I must wake up I tell myself
from this drug-like sleep
that saturates the earth these days
and most people that I meet.

I wonder if the tin man,
the lion and the lamb
could manage to decode this box
of quasi raisin bran.
