Reluctant Moon

Women's sacred laughter echoed through the trees,
and no one dared to stifle us or call on the police.

We danced in a bowl of blue awaiting a reluctant
moon. We synchronized our swimming to a Jimmy
Buffet tune.

Margaritas in neon salt-rimmed cups glowed within
our hands. We howled with wild abandon as only
women can.
