Climbing Beyond Boundaries

Someone said experience is like a ladder’s rung:
each step up you take brings you closer to where
your star is hung.

She’d traveled around the world. Crossed oceans
far and wide. Wrestled with the demons that held
her down inside.

And then she built a ladder from the compost of
Her fears. She climbed beyond the boundaries
Accepted through the years.

She found a place of ecstasy where dreams are
Surely grown. She found a place within herself
Where she did belong.
