John Mendel

John Mendel, Spokane, WA – states: "I have come to think in terms of process vs. product. Goal-oriented products were paramount during my 40 years as a nuclear scientist at the Hanford Atomic Works. The product dictated the process. But now in art, process dictates the product. To me, the evolution and changes that occur to an initial concept as a result of the artistic process are wondrously exciting and rewarding." John has studied college level watercolor, pottery, bronze casting, figure drawing, sculpture and print making in addition to numerous classes at Spokane Senior Centers. His exhibitions include two juried shows at the Chase Gallery, Spokane, Washington for his bronze sculptures, a one-man show at Lewistown Art Museum, Montana, and a solo exhibit at Ted Neth Open House, Richland, Washington.
